News Tidbits – Rentech issued their second quarter financial reports. A soft demand for retail wood pellets and lower industrial pellet sales were some of the factors that Keith Forman, President and CEO of Rentech said contributed to lesser revenues. 11,000 metric tons of pellets have been shipped to Ontario Power Generation and 12,000 metric tons to Drax. The company is negotiating with Drax to cancel the remaining shipments for the year. Rennet’s Wawa, Ontario, pellet mill was closed earlier this year and Rentech has reduced operating rates at the Atikokan plant.
