Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 50 increasing to 40 gusting to 60 late this evening then diminishing to 20 after midnight. Low minus 4. Wind chill minus 8 overnight.

News Tidbits:

A former OPP constable (now retired) who was stationed in Chapleau as a rookie has written a novel about his career. ‘1% Hatred’ details Dan Rocheleau’s experiences in Chapleau, Sudbury and being involved in major undercover drug investigations in Ontario and Quebec. Dan now suffers from PTSD, and hopes to deliver the message  that there is help out there. The book is also a fundraiser, with proceeds being donated to NEO Kids and The Hospital for Sick Children.

Northern Policy Institute’s (NPI) Experience North program is now accepting applications for youth looking to join the NPI team this upcoming summer for a 16-week placements. NPI is offering ten Experience North opportunities this year: Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout, Sault Ste. Marie, Hearst, and Kirkland Lake.
