Members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating multiple breaks and enter incidents which occurred since the 6th of August 2020. Officers are currently investigating the following thefts:
Between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12, 2020 – Unknown person(s) attended a property on Ansonia within the Municipality of Huron Shores and broke a rear washroom window to a cabin and three sheds and outhouse had their doors ripped off at hinges. A small bunkhouse had been entered through a window. Items taken were an old Skill saw and a 12 volt 1500 lb portable winch with a value of $150.
Between July 1 and Aug. 15, 2020 – Unknown person(s) attended a sugar bush camp near Duff and Ansonia Roads within Plummer Additional Township and stole: two Champion generators, Husqvarna chainsaw, Tool chest, tools, chains and a pipe wrench. An estimated value of all property is $3600.
Aug. 15, 2020 – Theft occurred approximately a year ago on Hwy 554 in the Warncliff area. The complainant concerned as property crime continues in the area. Stolen were tools with a value of $200.
Between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6:30 a.m., Aug 16, 2020 – A supervisor for Road Maintenance Construction company attended his worksite on Hwy 129 in Daigle Township near the Stoney Creek culvert approximately 75 kilometres north of Thessalon. A sea can unit and office trailer had been entered. Stolen were:

- 14′ cargo trailer, silver in color, bearing Ontario Marker L1988C.
- One 2001 CAT generator.
- One Lincoln welder.
- 770 Husqvarna cut off saw with gun and blade, gas powered.
- 16″ Husqvarna chain.
- Two Dewalt cordless drills.
- Two Dewalt cordless nut drivers.
- Two Dewalt cordless impact wrenches.
- One Dewalt electric grinder.
- One Milwaukee hammer drill.
- One general tool kit.
- Booster cables.
- Four 12′ nylon slings.
- One Rhino box.
- Three general purpose extension cords.
- Three Dewalt carry boxes, black in color.
- One rotating laser.
- Three two-way radios with chargers.
- A core drill.
- Core drill motor.
- Two Water Pumps.
- Six Dewalt battery chargers.
- Four Dewalt 60V batteries.
- Four Dewalt 20V batteries.
- Four Dewalt 6 V batteries.
- Miscellaneous tools.
Estimated value of property stolen is $250000.
Between July 31 and Aug. 6, 2020– Unknown person(s) attended a Maple Syrup Business located in the area of Desbarats Lake Road within Johnson Township. There have been previous break and enters to trailers and camps in the area of Desbarats Caves and Puddingstone Road in Bruce Mines where unknown suspects broke into a shipping container on the property near Desbarats Caves. Unknown suspects broke lock off gate and storage container and storage trailer on property. At this theft locks were cut off at the Generator shed, Storage shed and Vacuum shed. A local resident reported unknown persons on ATV’s in nearby gravel pit.

- Lapierre Stainless steel door (16″x24″)
Estimated value of property stolen is $5200.
Between Aug. 1 and Aug. 8, 2020– Unknown person(s) attend a property on Trunk Road in Plummer Additional Township. Items stolen were:

- Stainless steel juicer.
- Small roasting pan.
- Mastercraft belt sander.
- Mastercraft palm sander.
- Weed eater.
- Miscellaneous items (paint and sand paper, homemade wooden tote)
Estimated value of property stolen is $410.
