Forest Fire Update:

  • There are three active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. The fire hazard is mostly low to moderate across the Northeast Region. The fire hazard is mostly low to moderate in the Northeast Region. Temiskaming Shores down to Georgian Bay is showing a high hazard.

News Tidbits:

  • Welcome back to school! If you are a motorist be watchful for children on the streets, and for school buses.
  • It was really good to hear that the caribou that were removed from Michipicoten Island are doing well on Caribou Iland. Perhaps they will be moved back to Michipicoten Island with those on the Slate Islands to rebuild a healthy population.
  • There is a Corporate Planning Committee Meeting and a Regular Council Meeting tonight a 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. This meeting is also available by livestream.
