Weather:

  • Today – A few showers ending late this morning then a mix of sun and cloud. Risk of a thunderstorm this morning. Wind south 20 km/h becoming light near noon. High 25. Humidex 30. UV index 9 or very high.
  • Tonight – Increasing cloudiness. 40% chance of showers overnight with risk of a thunderstorm. Low 16.

There is a two day heat event forecast for today and Tuesday (Manitouwadge – Hornepayne). Environment Canada warns that temperatures are expected to reach between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius on today and Tuesday. Temperatures near 18 degrees Celsius will bring little relief from the heat tonight into early morning Tuesday. Tuesday night’s low temperatures, however, will likely be in the low- to mid-teens, bringing an end to the significant heat.
