On February 3, 2022, at approximately 5:22 p.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault that occurred on Mission Road in Wawa.
As a result of the investigation, Charles TURNER, 47 years-of-age, of Wawa was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC,
- Causing a Disturbance, contrary to section 175(1)(a) of the CC,
- Forcible Entry, contrary to section 72(1) of the CC,
- Assault with intent to resist arrest, contrary to section 270(1)(b) of the CC,
- Failure to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the CC, and
- Failure to comply with release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC.
The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
