Nipigon OPP – Charges laid after search Warrant executed in Nipigon

Two arrested for Drug and Firearm charges after search warrant at a residence in Nipigon.

On October 29th, 2026 Members of the Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the K9 Unit of the OPP conducted a search warrant on Harkness Street in the Town of Nipigon.

Officers located a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine and four long gun Firearms that were stored improperly. Two people have been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Agnes Hardy, 40-years-old of Nipigon, is charged with:

• Trafficking of Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)
• Trafficking of Schedule I substance – Cocaine
• Possession of Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)
• Careless Storage of Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

William Laird, 67-years-old of Nipigon, is charged with:

• Trafficking of Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)
• Trafficking of Schedule I substance – Cocaine
• Possession of Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)
• Fail to comply with Probation Order
• Careless Storage of Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
