The Municipality of Wawa would like to inform all users of the Michipicoten Memorial Community Center regarding the recent ice cancellations. A solution has been found to allow the MMCC to return to normal ice operations.
Staff have sourced a replacement Olympia unit in proper working order from Resurfice Inc. This unit is scheduled to arrive in the community by Friday, December 8th, 2017. This is dependent on the condition of roads and weather between Elmira, Ontario and Wawa.
We, therefore, expect the MMCC to be back to normal operations Saturday, December 9th, 2017. This is dependent on the receipt of a working Olympia unit before that date.
Staff will continue to monitor air quality levels throughout the week and weekend and ensure that the facility continues to be safe for users and staff alike.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Please contact me directly should you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
