My sincere condolences to Helen, Carol and their extended families. Stefan and I were close friends and spent all of our high school years together. So many great memories, I don’t even know where to start. We even tried hitchhiking out to BC one year but after standing out on Hwy 17 beside the Big Goose for a whole day, my dad finally gave us a ride to White River and we got on the train to Revelstoke and managed to hitchhike a bit in BC, before visiting with his sister Carol in Trail. Stefan and I and the rest of our crew loved drinking beer together and I usually managed to get myself in trouble, but Stefan was always looking out for me no matter what I did, even if it was my fault, he was a true friend. We ended up moving out to BC together and hung out for a few more years before he moved up north, then back to Ontario and then eventually he move back to BC and lived with Helen and Bob in Garden Bay. We had a really good visit there back in June of 2016 and it was really nice to see Stefan was exactly where he was supposed to be, with family in one of the nicest places in BC.
Dear Stefan, I feel very fortunate to have been your friend for so many years and I’m very happy that I was given the opportunity to say goodbye to you, thanks to your loving sister Helen. Safe travels good buddy and I’m sure we will meet again one day.
Your Friend,
Harald Felst
Nicely stated Harald, remember those years well. RIP Stefan.
