East Algoma OPP – Arrest made after indecent act call

On March 21, 2022, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to an indecent act related occurrence on Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake.

The complainant reported that a male was in the laundry room of the apartment complex exposing himself. Police attended and recognized the male. After further investigation, police also learned the male was wanted from a previous break, enter and theft occurrence.

Cody EVERTON, 27 years-old, of Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with:

• Indecent Act – Public Place, contrary to section 173(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• Break, Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC
• Theft Under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 3, 2022.
