News Tidbits:

  • The coldest spot this morning is in Armstrong at -42.2. Armstrong is a small, rural community located 250 kilometres north of Thunder Bay at the end of Highway 527 and northwest of Lake Nipigon – Ontario’s largest inland lake.
  • Ontario has increased the amount of money available to seniors in the Seniors Community Grant Program (2022-23 program cycle). Intake will begin on March 1, 2022 and closes at 5 p.m. on April 28, 2022. The Seniors Community Grant Program offers funding for programs that safely bring seniors together to learn new skills, socialize and keep fit.
  • The OLG’s ‘Collecting for the Community’ virtual promotion provided $2,205.21 for United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District. From July 19, 2021, to January 3, 2022, players 18 years and older who visited CollectingfortheCommunity.ca could play a free activity, and through their participation, could secure additional funding for their local United Way and benefit their community.
