Smile Cookie Campaign Raises Funds for LDHC Foundation’s Telemetry Unit

Members of the Lady Dunn Health Centre Foundation were all smiles yesterday, October 6th when they received this huge cheque for $2,800 and a small bag o’ cash ($40) from Tracey (far right) and Mark Toffner; the new owners of Tim Hortons – Wawa. These funds will be used to buy a new Telemetry Unit (wireless cardiac monitor) for the Lady Dunn Health Centre.

In a new twist this year, not only could business’ place an order for a dozen at a time for Smile Cookies — but members of the LDHC Foundation assisted in decorating the cookies! It was a great help, because those cookies are very popular and delicious. A freshly baked chocolate chunk cookie decorated with a smiley face was only $1 plus tax, all donated to the LDHC Foundation. They were only available from September 14 – 20th, and as you can see, quite a few were sold.

The members of the LDHC Foundation expressed their gratitude to the Toffner’s for their generosity and help in making this campaign a huge success for the community of Wawa.
