Tim Horton’s Smile Cookies Donate $2169 to LDHC Oncology Unit

 

Last week, Wawa’s Tim Hortons presented a “Smile Cookie Cheque” for $2,169 to Carol Styres, for the Lady Dunn Health Centre’s Oncology Unit. This is an annual campaign run by Tim Hortons, with each local franchise deciding on the charity to benefit. A smile cookie sold for $1, meaning that 2,169 cookies were made, bought and eaten during this one week period.

The Oncology Unit is used by many members of our community, and it was decided that it would be a worthy recipient of these funds. Carol Styres was delighted, and when Perry handed her the “Smile Cookie Cheque” she was amazed. Even more so when she realized, she got to keep the big cheque as a memento of the occasion!
