Two new wildland fires were confirmed in the Northeast Region today:
- Sudbury 47 (SUD047) is 0.1 of a hectare and located approximately 0.45 of a kilometre east of Chiniguchi Lake, and 1.3 kilometres northwest of Telephone Lake. The fire is being held.
- Sudbury 48 (SUD048) is 0.1 of a hectare and located approximately 0.45 of a kilometre northwest of Moose Lake, and 0.6 of a kilometre southeast of Gem Lake. The fire is being held.
Two wildland fires were confirmed yesterday evening in the Northeast Region after our update:
- Wawa 30 (WAW030) was 0.1 of a hectare and located on a peninsula on the west side of Manitowik Lake, approximately 3.2 kilometres southwest of Swanson Lake. The fire is out.
- Chapleau 20 (CHA020) was 0.1 of a hectare and located on Windermere Lake, approximately 1.7 kilometres south of Henna Lake, and 11 kilometres north of Highway 101. The fire is out.
There are currently 44 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Of these fires: 1 is not under control, 4 are being held, 1 is under control and 38 are being observed.
