Officers from the Marathon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a driver following complaints from members of the public while at a community event in Manitouwadge.
On Friday, August 1, 2025, at approximately 6:10 p.m., officers were travelling along the parade route of an event on Manitou Road and Ohweken Road when bystanders alerted them of an erratic driver in the vicinity.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle and driver at a residence nearby. As a result of the investigation, one individual was taken into custody.
Ash MILLER, 24 years old, of Manitouwadge, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 20, 2025.
