The Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one person in connection with a homicide investigation in Shuniah.
On Monday, July 14, 2025, shortly after 10:50 p.m., OPP officers responded to a residence on Blind Creek Drive, where one person was located deceased. One person was taken into custody.
The deceased has been identified as Shelley MARCONI, 54 years old of Shuniah.
As a result of the investigation, Kyle BARRY, 26 years old of Shuniah, was charged with second degree murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Friday, July 18, 2025.
The OPP North West Region Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is also being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.
