Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for significant rainfall (grey areas are affected – red is a heat warning).

Rain is expected to begin today over areas to the east of Lake Superior and spread to the east and northeast tonight. Significant rainfall in amounts of 30 to 40 mm is possible, continuing through Tuesday. There is the possibility that
higher amounts could reach 60 mm by Wednesday morning.

This rainfall is because of a weather system coming from the US midwest.
