UPDATE 10:32 a.m. Now Open – Hwy 17 Blocked at Three Ring Road (Wawa to Sault Ste. Marie)

Aug 28, 2017 @ 10:32 – The transport has been removed. Highway is now open. The highway had been closed for 2 1/2 hours.

Just after 8 a.m. a transport tried to turn around on the highway and ended up with the tractor in the ditch and the trailer blocking the highway.

 

As a result Highway 17 is blocked at this time at Three Ring Road (just south of Batchawana Bay / Batchawana River). Laird Towing is on their way to move the transport (5:45 a.m.).

The OPP NER Communication Twitter feed is out of service at this time.

 

Ontario511 is reporting that as of 8:20 that the highway is closed at the Batchawana River.
