Granville Anderson, MPP for Durham, will be in Wawa on Thursday, May 25 to discuss and share ideas about how to best address the unique needs and challenges that rural and remote communities face. We encourage community members to attend and join the conversation.
The discussion will focus on:
- Strategies to support and improve student achievement in rural Ontario;
- Strategies to leverage schools and school board resources for the broader benefit of rural communities; and
- How education funding could better recognize the realities of rural Ontario.
For rural communities to thrive, Ontario recognizes that students must be supported by high-quality education, strong local community programming, and innovative local economic strategies. The ministry is committed to working with municipalities, schools and school boards, parents and other stakeholders to explore opportunities to enhance the quality and delivery of education in rural and remote communities in Ontario.
You are invited to the Royal Canadian Legion Hall (Upstairs), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25th. Light refreshments will be served. No registration is required.
