On March 31st, the Municipality of Wawa and Algoma Power announced a Dollar-for-Dollar Donation Matching Campaign for the Wawa Goose Monument. At the first Council Meeting of April, a special presentation was made by Mayor Ron Rody and Karin Grundt with their donations, Jody and Jen (Algoma Power) with the matching donations from Algoma Power.

Mayor Rody and his wife Lina, donated $600, $100 for each of their grandchildren. Karin has donated $500 from her sale of the second edition of “My Life in the Shadow of the Goose”. Her book is for sale at Fenlon’s Pharmacy, and all proceeds go to the Goose. Since the initial donation, Karin has made another donation of $500.

There are five days left for donations to be made to the Wawa Goose Monument Fund in which Algoma Power will match up to $15,000. If you have been thinking of making a donation, buying a feather or a mini-goose, now is the time to do so.
