Two new wildland fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by the early evening of Aug. 30.
- Kenora 34 (KEN034) is located on an island on Cameron Lake approximately 33 kilometres southeast of Sioux Narrows. The 0.1 hectare fire is not under control.
- Dryden 66 (DRY066) is located near Brownie Lake in Blue Lake Provincial Park, approximately 7 kilometres west of the park’s campground area. The 0.1 hectare fire is being held.
At the time of this update there are 59 active fires in the Northwest Region. Among those fires, 4 are not under control, 4 are being held, 12 are under control and 39 are being observed.

The Rinker Lake Complex – Thunder Bay 36 (THU036), Dryden 34 (DRY034), Dryden 35 (DRY035)
- Wildland fire activity across the Complex remains low.
- Firefighting crews, supported by helicopter bucketing operations, are focused on suppressing hotspots while demobilizing equipment as required.
- THU036 is currently measuring 301,240 hectares and remains not under control.
- DRY034 is currently measuring 45,800 hectares and remains not under control.
- DRY035 is currently measuring 30,158 hectares and remains not under control.
