NE Forest Fire Region Update – August 14

Three new wildland fires were confirmed in the Northeast Region today:

  • Chapleau 22 (CHA022) is 0.1 of a hectare and located approximately 0.9 of a kilometre southwest of Peters Lake and 1.5 kilometres southeast of Lower Prairie Bee Lake. The fire is being held.
  • Haliburton 24 (HAL024) was 0.1 of a hectare and located approximately 0.1 of a kilometre south of North Tea Lake and 0.55 of a kilometre north of Cayuga Lake. The fire is out.
  • Sudbury 55 (SUD055) is 0.2 of a hectare and located approximately 0.2 of a kilometre southwest of Agnew Lake Mine Road and 1.7 kilometres northeast of Agnew Lake. The fire is not under control.

There are currently 44 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Of these fires: 2 are not under control, 2 are being held, 2 are under control and 38 are being observed.
