One new wildland fire was confirmed in the Northeast Region today:
- Cochrane 55 (COC055) is 7 hectares and located approximately 3.2 kilometres southwest of Circle Lake, and 25.5 kilometres north of Lake Abitibi. Two FireRanger crews, two Twin Otters, two CL-415 waterbombers, and a Bird Dog have responded. The fire is not under control.
There were 2 wildland fires confirmed yesterday evening in the Northeast Region after our update:
- Timmins 24 (TIM024) is 0.7 of a hectare and located approximately 0.25 of a kilometre east of Highway 144, 0.35 of a kilometre east of Susanne Lake, and 0.55 of a kilometre southeast of Loucks Lake. The fire is being held.
- Wawa 29 (WAW029 was 0.1 of a hectare and located approximately 1 kilometre northwest of Oganek Lake, and 3.8 kilometres northeast of Highway 17. The fire is out.
There are currently 44 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Of these fires: 2 are not under control, 2 are being held, 2 are under control and 38 are being observed.
