COYNE, Jacquline

November 7, 1931 – August 6, 2025

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Afton Park Place in Sarnia, ON, Jackie Coyne passed away at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Coyne (2006). Loving mother of Terri-Lynne Tessier/ Paul Trainor and Randy Coyne/ Michael Soost. Predeceased by her mother, Almeda and Emil Peterson of Wawa. Cherished grandmother of Morgan (Bryan) Tessier-Sylvain and Chance (Ashley) Tessier. Treasured great-grandma of Luca and Briah Tessier and special “Grandma Jackie” to Cam and Addi Sylvain.

Although born in Sault Ste Marie, Jackie spent 77 years raising her family and working in Wawa, proudly carrying her northern roots throughout her life. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, warm smile, sharp wit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Jackie enjoyed curling, golfing, and travelling the world with Bruce. She has shared many funny bonspiel stories with her family. She worked with great devotion at Broadway Flowers for over 30 years and cherished her time there. Jackie had a gift for making every holiday unforgettable and every visitor feel welcome. Her grandkids fondly remember magical Christmases and Summer visits to Wawa with their grandparents – memories that will be treasured forever. Everyone will miss weekly phone and FaceTime calls with their mom and grandma immensely. Jackie will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family takes comfort in knowing she and Bruce are reunited and dancing to the song “Can I have this dance for the rest of my life”. She will be deeply missed at the Coyne Reunions.

Cremation has taken place, and an interment will follow in Wawa in the Spring of 2026, returning her to the northern home she carried in her heart. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Lady Dunn Health Centre Foundation ([email protected]) (cheques only at the funeral home please).

Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.

Your Mother

Although you cannot hear her voice or see her smile no more,
your mother walks beside you still just as she did before.
She listens to your stories and she wipes away your tears;
she wraps her arms around you and she understands your fears.
It’s just she isn’t visible to see with human eye,
but talk to her in silence and her spirit with reply.
You’ll feel the love she has for you –
you’ll hear her in your heart;
she’s left her human body but your souls will never part.

We love you mom.
