Unfortunately, overnight troubleshooting efforts did not resolve the issue, and our teams continue to actively and urgently work towards full restoration. While Tbaytel teams work urgently to restore full service, we highly recommend that affected customers enable Wi-Fi Calling on their mobile devices, if supported. This will allow them to maintain connectivity for calls and texts over an available Wi-Fi network. Further updates on our restoration progress will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

Please be advised that rolling maintenance efforts are planned throughout the early morning hours (1:00am – 4:00am) of October 24 in order to resolve current degradation issues on our east and west regional mobility sites. This work will impact connectivity for approximately 10 minutes on sites in the following areas:
    • Between Dorion and Marathon
    • Along Hwy 11 west up to Nickle Lake
    • Along Hwy 105 corridor including Red Lake
Further updates on restoration will continue.
6:05 p.m.
As troubleshooting and restoration progress continues, remaining mobility degradation appears isolated in a subset of sites outside of Thunder Bay. Notably the areas of Dorion, Manitouwadge, Nakina and Dubreuilville as well as some sites along Hwy 11-17 may experience diminished call quality, slow data connection or no service during periods of time. Mobility sites in Thunder Bay and rural Thunder Bay, along with the majority of Tbaytel’s wireless network, are operational.
Visit tbaytel.net/alerts for updates and tips as to how to ensure your mobile phone has WiFi calling enabled.
