The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is taking action to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 by restricting the access to its facilities, including detachments, across the province.
The OPP ask to schedule appointments for in-person attendance at detachments to avoid large numbers of people in the public areas at any given time. This is related to criminal record checks/vulnerable sector checks, finger printing, or other administrative needs. This applies to the OPP Detachment in Blind River (705-356-2244), Elliot Lake (705-848-6975), and Thessalon (705-842-3244). You are required to have proper personal protective equipment prior to entering the detachment and adhere to social distancing once inside.
Front line operations are not impacted by these changes. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. For all other police matters, please call 1-888-310-1122 or report online by visiting www.opp.ca/reporting.
The OPP thanks the public for helping us to keep our communities safe by using the means listed above to avoid unnecessary contact.
