Nipigon OPP – Driver Charged with Stunt 146 in a 90 in Red Rock

On September 18, 2026 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment charged a driver for stunt driving.

At approximately 3:00 p.m, an officer was conducting Lidar patrol on Highway 11&17 in the Township of Red Rock, ON. The officer observed a grey car traveling westbound at an excessive rate of speed. The Lidar confirmed the vehicle speed to be 146km/hr in the posted 90km/hr zone.

As a result, JASKARAN SINGH, 26 years of Dartmouth NS was charged for Stunt Driving, contrary to Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The driver received a 30 days licence suspension and is scheduled to appear in Nipigon court in November 2026. The vehicle a grey 2026 Volkswagen Jetta was impounded for 14 days.

The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario’s roadways. Members of the public are urged to report aggressive driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive, or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122.
