SE OPP – Driver Charged with Impaired after collision

The Superior East Wawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 30-year-old male from Michipicoten First Nation with Impaired driving after they were called to a two-vehicle collision on Harbour Road south of Wawa.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m., members of the Superior East OPP Wawa detachment attended the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Harbour Road and determined a male driver had been drinking.

A breath test was completed using an Approved Screening Device (ASD), resulting in a FAIL. The driver was arrested and transported to Wawa Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Brandon ANDRE-AUCLAIR, 30-year-old male from Michipicoten First Nation, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Careless driving

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on September 21, 2026.
