ARNOTT, Leslie ‘Les’

Leslie (Les) Arnott passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Chapleau Health Centre on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 65.

Les was the beloved husband and best friend of Gwen for 40 years, the loving father of Brandon Soyatt (Amy) and the proud grandfather of Emery. He was also a dear brother to Scott Arnott and his wife, Kelly, and a cherished uncle, brother-in-law, neighbour, companion, and friend. Les will be remembered for his humour, sincerity, kindness, and generous spirit.

Les was deeply committed to his community. He was an active member of Lorne Masonic Lodge No. 622 and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Chapleau.  He also belonged to Woodland Lodge No. 680 in Wawa and participated in Masonic lodges in Sault Ste. Marie.

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Les’s life.

A Masonic Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Lorne Lodge Masonic Hall, 144 Landsdown Street South.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to Trinity United Church, located at the corner of Beech and Lorne Streets for a tribute by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. A luncheon will follow in the United Church Hall at 12:00 noon. Please join us as we honour and remember Les.
