• Chapleau residents will enjoy a new community space. Sic Sox Circular is celebrating the grand opening of its new storefront located at 209 Martel Rd., in Chapleau, on Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. They are now providing a full-service laundromat, a café, and thrift store.
• Northeastern Public Health (NEPH) has been notified that an American Crow has tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). The last infected birds reported for the area were in 2024. NEPH serves the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming, and the townships of Temagami and Hornepayne. The location of where the bird was found has not been disclosed.
