On March 4, 2022, at approximately 4:10 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol duties on Beckett Boulevard in Elliot Lake.
Police conducted a traffic stop and the driver identified with a false name. After investigation the true identity was learned and that their driver’s license was suspended. As a result, the driver was arrested and charged.
Nicole TINGEY, 37 years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code
- Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice Elliot Lake on April 5, 2022.
