On February 4, 2022, at approximately 11:50 a.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Winnipeg Street in White River.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old person, from White River, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault – Spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC) (Two Counts),
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC,
- Forcible Confinement, contrary to section 279(2) of the CC,
- Mischief, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC (Four Counts),
- Public Mischief, contrary to section 140(1)(c) of the CC, and
- Failure to comply with release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in March 2022, in Wawa.
