Status of COVID-19 cases in Algoma

There are 54 active cases of COVID-19 in the Algoma District today, with one in North Algoma.

Very sad to hear that the Elliot Lake Curling Club has closed its doors. After 60 years of operation, COVID-19 restrictions, low membership, difficulty in fundraising, extensive expensive repairs have all be cited as reasons for closure.

Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, will be joined by Rita Davies, Chair of the Ontario Arts Council, and Andrew Pringle, Chair of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection Board of Trustees, to make an announcement in support of Ontario’s arts sector at 9 a.m.
