On February 8, 2019 shortly after 11:00 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Nipissing District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Marten River Fire Department, responded to a call for a collision on Highway 11, just north of Tonomo Lake in Temagami, Ontario.
Further investigation revealed that one tractor trailer had been travelling southbound on Highway 11, and lost control. The tractor trailer ended up striking a guard rail and then jack-knifing across the highway, blocking both lanes. A second tractor trailer following the initial vehicle, rear-ended the trailer of the truck. The highway had to be closed in both directions to allow for cleanup of the debris.
The driver of the first tractor trailer sustained minor injuries.
The vehicles were towed from the scene and the highway was re-opened at approximately 7:00 a.m.
