News Tidbits – Bird Construction (Mississauga) has been awarded a $182-million contract to design, build and finance nine new Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachments in Fort Frances, Manitoulin Island, Marathon, Moosonee, West Parry Sound, Hawkesbury, Huron County, Orillia, and Port Credit (Mississauga).

Today a Toronto judge will be asked to approve the sale of Algoma (formerly Essar Steel) bringing the steelmaker one step closer to emerging from bankruptcy protection.A BC numbered company is proposing to purchase the assets.
