East Algoma OPP Investigate Fatal Collision

On October 13, 2017, shortly before 11:30 a.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police Detachment and members from the OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) responded to a single motor vehicle collision approximately 20 kilometres north of the City of Elliot Lake on Highway 638. The female driver was transported by Algoma Emergency Medical Services to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The investigation is continuing and further information will be released as it becomes available. The name of the deceased is being withheld until next of kin are notified.

Highway 638 northbound lane was closed at approximately 12:10 p.m. and remains closed at this time.
