UPDATE – Woman dies in ATV Rollover

At approximately 4:20 pm on August 4, 2017 Batchewana First Nation Police (BFN) with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Batchewana Fire and Rescue attended the scene of a single all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover on an access gravel road at the end of Goulais Mission Road approximately 200 meters west of Cemetery Road on the Batchewana First Nation Territory.

The ATV was westbound on the roadway and entered the south grass line striking a stump causing the ATV to rollover. All three occupants were wearing a helmet at the time of the rollover. There were three persons on a non-passenger single rider ATV.

The deceased driver of the ATV has been identified as 54 year old Suzanne ROSS of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

The two child passengers, a 13 year old male and a 10 year old female received minor injuries.

A post mortem has been scheduled for August 8, 2017.


Aug 4, 2017 @ 20:42 – At approximately 4:20 pm on August 4, 2017 Batchewana First Nation Police (BFN) with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene of a single all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover on a trail off the Goulais Mission Road on the Batchewana First Nation Territory.

 

The female adult driver of the ATV and the two child passengers, one male and one female were transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The female driver sustained life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at hospital. The male and female passengers received minor injuries.

 

The investigation is still ongoing with the assistance of two OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI).
