Hwy 129 – OPEN

Without any fanfare or OPP press releases Highway 129 was opened at 2 p.m.

Notification was made only via a tweet “Ouverte: #Chapleau: #RTE129 – #RTE667 à #RTE101 Sud Jct, voie en direction Nord & l’accotement , toutes les voies sont ouvertes. #ONRtes“.

One lane had been opened at 12:15 p.m.

Highway 129 had been closed for five days due to a culvert collapsing forcing many to make alternate travel plans. Many travel this way as a short cut to Sudbury and southern Ontario from Wawa and points west.
