SE OPP Charge two Wawa Males with several Sexual Assault Charges

On Sunday, May 28, 2017, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment received a complaint in relation to a female who had been sexually assaulted. Members of the Superior East Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.

As a result, two Wawa males aged 22 and 20 have been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Adult Gang Sexual Assault contrary to section 272(1)(d) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Adult Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 271 of the CC
  • Adult Sexual Interference with a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 151 of the CC
  • Adult Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age contrary to section 152 of the CC

Both accused were held in custody pending a Bail Hearing on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
