Chapleau Man Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

On Thursday, February 23, 2017, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Detachments, assisted by the Sault Ste. Marie OPP Crime Unit and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, arrested and charged a Chapleau male following a child pornography investigation.

A search warrant executed at the accused’s Chapleau residence led to the seizure of seven electronic devices for further forensic examination.

As a result Kaarlo LEHTIMAKI (31) of Chapleau, Ontario was charged with the following offence:

  • Adult Possession of Child Pornography contrary to section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Timmins, Ontario.
