On Monday, October 5, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners within the Township of the North Shore.
As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had breached a house arrest condition. At approximately 4:00 p.m., police made an arrest on Old Hydro Road.
A 62-year-old was charged with: Fail to comply with Probation Order.
The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing with a later court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake.

When individuals fail to comply with those conditions, particularly in situations involving intimate partner violence, it raises concerns for the safety and well-being of those affected. The OPP takes all reports of intimate partner violence and related breaches seriously and remains committed to holding offenders accountable while working with community partners to support victims and enhance public safety.”
