Two new wildland fires were confirmed in the Northeast Region today:
- Haliburton 28 (HAL028) measured 0.1 of a hectare and was located approximately 1 kilometre southeast of the junction between Algonquin Park and Oxtongue River Ragged Falls Provincial Park. This fire has already been declared out.
- Haliburton 29 (HAL029) was located on an island of Big Porcupine Lake, within Algonquin Park. It measured 0.1 of a hectare and has already been declared out.
There are currently three active wildland fires in the Northeast Region: two are under control, and one is being observed.
