News Tidbits:

• Spaceweather.com is predicting Northern Lights for Friday night. “New sunspot 4549 erupted this morning, hurling a full-halo CME straight toward Earth. Forecast models predict it will arrive on Oct. 9th, possibly sparking a G2-class geomagnetic storm.”
• The delivery of recycling bins begins today with collection starting November 17th. Residents will be able to recycle a range of accepted materials through the new program, including paper and fibres, plastic containers and packaging, glass containers, metal packaging and more via regular curbside collection. At this time, this program includes residents within Wawa as shown on the map to the right.
• Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club is will be hosting the 2027 Bill Gairdner Canadian Masters Cross Country Ski Championship from Feb. 11-14, 2027, at Hiawatha Highlands in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. The event will welcome Masters athletes (age 30+) from across Canada to compete and will also serve as the 2027 Ontario Masters Cross Country Ski Championship.
