Nipigon OPP – Driver Charged with Stunt Driving

On September 26, 2026, at approximately 4:00 pm, an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment was conducting RADAR patrol on Highway 11-17 west of Nipigon, ON. The officer observed a westbound motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed coming up behind the police cruiser. The RADAR confirmed the vehicle speed to be between 148 – 151km/hr in the 90km/hr zone.

As a result, Guy ROUSSEAU, age 50 of Sudbury, Ontario was issued a court summons for Stunt Driving 148 km/hr, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The driver received a 30 day driver’s license suspension and is scheduled to appear in Nipigon court at a later date. The vehicle a black Ford Explorer, was impounded for 14 days.
