One new fire was confirmed in the Northwest Region by the early evening of Sept. 28.
- Nipigon 113 (NIP 113) is located near the northeastern shore of Balancing Lake, approximately 17 kilometres east/northeast of Longlac. The fire is being held at 0.1 hectares.
At the time of this update there are 28 active fires in the Northwest Region. Among these fires, 1 is being held, 9 ;fires are under control and 18 fires are being observed.
