A 51-year-old individual from Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with multiple offences following a traffic complaint in Chapleau.
On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Superior East Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver in the Township of Chapleau.
Officers located the vehicle on Martel Road and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of the investigation, police determined the driver was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and subsequently arrested the individual.
As a result, Randy RUNNING, 51 years of age, of Sault Ste Marie, has been charged with:
- Operation While Prohibited
- Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device
- Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, on November 2, 2026, in Chapleau.
