Thunder Bay OPP – Charges laid after collision at Sistonen’s Corner

On March 14, 2022, at 6:50 pm, members of the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11-17 at Hwy 102, also known as Sistonen’s Corner.

Investigation revealed that a Tractor-Trailer Unit southbound on Hwy 102 failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a westbound pickup truck on Hwy 11-17. The pickup truck suffered extensive damage but there were no injuries reported.

Police charged the driver of the Tractor Trailer Unit, Jacques DUFRESNE, 33 of Ottawa, ON with Careless Driving, contrary to section 130 of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
