Lots of Rain fell Sunday Morning Throughout Algoma

Creek flowing from Alpha and Queminico Lakes – very full.

That rainstorm that hit about 3 a.m. Sunday in Wawa also delivered lots of rain to other parts of Northeastern Ontario. Total rainfall amounts of 25 millimetres or more received by Environment Canada as of Monday, July 24, at 6.00 p.m. are shown below. This rainfall may have been a contributing factor in the Hwy 17, Alona Bay Lookout washout. At the scene, Wawa-news was told that the washout was probably due to a beaver dam breaking.
