The search continued today by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), North Bay Detachment Marine Unit and the OPP’s Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for a forty-year-old male of Mattawa, Ontario.
OPP say that Arthur Lavoie was carried away by the current while swimming in the Ottawa River in Mattawa on July 15, 2017. The area where he entered the water is described as having very strong current, varying depths and not suitable for swimming.
