Timmins Man dies in Hwy 11 Collision near Cobalt

At approximately 10:04 a.m., on January 30, 2019, officers from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal two vehicle collision on Highway 11, near the Town of Cobalt, Ontario.

 

Investigation has revealed that a sport utility vehicle (SUV) was northbound and a pickup truck was southbound on Highway 11. The vehicles collided and the driver of the SUV died at the scene. The driver has been identified as Steven MITCHELL, a 57-year-old man from Timmins, Ontario.

 

Two other people were brought to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

Highway 11 was closed for approximately seven hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Collision Reconstructionists completed their investigation into the collision.
